Amboseli Sopa Lodge

ImageNestled in 190 acres of wooded Masai land, the lodge sits on the foot hills of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro. Mature wooded gardens with a variety of trees and plants, from thorn trees and acacias, to fragrant frangipanis, colourful bougainvillea and giant cactus plants thrive in these surroundings.

Different species of birds build their nests while monkeys with babies clinging under their bellies and squirrels dart through the gardens.

Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge

ImageLet us invite you to discover one of Tanzania's best kept secrets. Lake Manyara, a small breathtaking National Park with an immense natural richness - home of over 380 bird species, including the thousands of flamingos that tint the soda waters of the Lake pink and the famous tree-climbing lions, which for reasons unknown sleep in the branches of acacia trees.

Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge is strategically located on the very edge of the vertiginous western escarpment of the Rift Valley, affording magnificent views down across the whole Lake.

Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge invites you to an unforgettable safari experience from its privileged location, unrivalled by any other, both for game viewing and scenery. Elegantly designed as a two-level ensemble of buildings, its authentic traditional African style decorations create a unique atmosphere that perfectly combines extreme tranquility with the best of adventure-packed safari experiences. From its privileged position, all the Lodges's 100 guestrooms have stunning views across the tranquil and beautiful waters of the Lake.

The spectacular swimming pool, situated in a panoramic setting, is a privileged location to enjoy the invigorating fresh air and the breathtaking views of the Pink Lake.

Serengeti wildlife lodge

ImageSerengeti Wildlife Lodge is located in the Serengeti Central area of northern Tanzania.

This place is one of a chain of large motel type facilities built by the government back when safari lodges were very thin on the ground.

The architecture is right out of the 1970's. Public areas are really rather fun, with rooms and corridors worked in amongst natural rock kopjes, with a definite hint of James Bond villain's lair. The eighty or so rooms however are much less attractive, being housed within two-storey army-style billet blocks.

We do find ourselves attracted to the retro aspects of this Serengeti Wildlife Lodge and always enjoy visiting, meeting the friendly staff and mixing with people in the bar. But ultimately it is a difficult place to recommend for inclusion in many safaris.

The few times that we do book it tend to be around Mar/May when many of the tented camps are pulled out because of the rains, plus guest numbers and prices here are at their lowest.

Lake Baringo Country Club

ImageLake Baringo Club is a neat, compact hotel on the lakeshore. The architecture has a Spanish air about it and the garden and grounds are unmistakably African, but laid out with English flair. There is a very welcoming atmosphere, the staff are friendly and the food is excellent.

Rooms at Lake Baringo Club are cool and comfortable with a central overhead fan, mosquito nets around the beds and a decent shower. Above all Baringo means birds, birds and more birds. Over 460 species have been recorded here so its no surprise chat Lake Baringo is a Mecca for bird watchers and a highlight of the ornithology circuit of East Africa.

Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge

ImageNaivasha is a Masai name given to the area where the resort is located, denoting the characteristics of the lake including size and its tendency to roughness when windy.

The history of the area has always been important as it formed the main route of the slave trade from Uganda and the highlands of Kenya, including in 1884, the Scottish explorer Joseph Thompson’s epic journey through Masai land – where he writes in his journals of his time in Naivasha.

Lake Nakuru Lodge

ImageSituated in the Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru Lodge is an African Safari Accommodation in Kenya. Within a wonderland which lies in the heart of one of Kenya's most densely animal populated wetland national parks (Ramsar Site), only two hours leisurely drive on first class roads from Nairobi, through some of the most exciting scenery to be seen anywhere in Africa.

The 156 km Nairobi-Nakuru roads gives the visitor an unrivalled view of the majestic Great Rift Valley, winding through a series of lakes and forested uplands all the way to the bustling market town of Nakuru. The views are equally impressive for the visitor who uses a charter aircraft for 25-minute flight to Lake Nakuru National Park airstrip situated at the southern side of the park at the Rhino Sanctuary Headquarters - Naishi.Situated in the South East Ecological niche of the park is Lake Nakuru Lodge, an oasis of comfort and excellent service, with commanding views of the lesser flamingo dotted with the Greater Flamingo for which Lake Nakuru is justly famous.

It is another world for the visitor, where one easily forgets the hustle and bustle of the city. The lodge blends well with its surrounding and the animals often browse peacefully close to the lodge and environs, much to the fascination of the visitors. There are accommodations for 180 people, either in family rooms, deluxe cottages, or suites. The service is unmatched anywhere in Kenya, a country renowned for hospitality.

Mara Sopa Lodge

ImageThe lodge is located 206 km south of the Equator on the eastern boundary of the Masai Mara Game Reserve in southwestern Kenya, 2 km from the Oloolaimutia Gate. The reserve, the best-known game area in East Africa, is 1,120 sq. km of prime safari wildlife-viewing territory bordering the Serengeti National Park.

The lodge has an altitude of 2,104 meters (6,400 feet) above sea level, and because of the cool breeze through the valley it is located in, it enjoys warm days and cool evenings. The April / June, October / November rainy season ensured that the reserve is verdant almost throughout the year. Only the lightest of clothes are recommended although a light sweater might be needed for early mornings and late evenings. More formal attire might be advisable for cocktails and theme evenings, while swimwear is needed by the pool.
