At the foothills of Mt. Kenya lies the indigenous forest reserve, the Ngarendare Forest Reserve which obtained the name from the Maasai community which translates to, “Water for the gods”. It forms part of the major wildlife corridors that connects the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Mount Kenya. The canopy walk over and around the spectacular vegetation, viewing the diverse species of wild animals and birds is a breathtaking ,heart racing experience but gives one a nice view of the amazing ecosystem. The meandering wire mesh cables (450m long30ft high) gives one a great view of the river that cuts through the reserve. Some of the animal species include the elephants, black rhino and monkeys.
